Rudchester Roman fort preserves the earthworks of a former Roman fort in Northumberland. The Albion Guide lists eleven Roman forts in the county; this is one of them. Heddon-on-the-Wall, Hadrian's Wall and Denton Hall Turret, Hadrian's Wall are among the Roman sites within 8.4 km. The closest station is Wylam, 3 km to the south.
