The Moorings Hotel sits at Banavie beside Neptune’s Staircase, the flight of eight locks that lifts the Caledonian Canal on its way out of Fort William. The bar and restaurant make an easy stop if you’re walking the towpath or the Great Glen Way, or just watching boats work through the locks. Banavie station is right by the water, a few minutes’ walk.
