A quiet Munro on the western edge of Rannoch Moor, linked by a high ridge to the ski slopes of Meall a' Bhuiridh

Creise is a 1,100m Munro — a Scottish hill over 3,000 feet — on the long ridge running down the western edge of Rannoch Moor, among the Ben Nevis and Glen Coe hills above Glen Etive. The summit is a narrow grassy crest, and a high bealach (a mountain pass) links it east to Meall a’ Bhuiridh, the hill with the Glencoe ski centre on its far side. The two are usually done together, sometimes using the ski area to save a bit of height, then following the ridge over Creise and back. The rocky descent off the north end towards the road is awkward underfoot, and the crest is a wild place to be caught out when the weather closes in.
