One of the highest mountains in Scotland, a steep, remote top just east of Ben Nevis and usually paired with its neighbour Aonach Mòr

Despite the name — beag means small in Gaelic — Aonach Beag is the taller of the two Aonachs, a Munro (a Scottish hill over 3,000 feet, or 914m) that reaches 1,234m and ranks among the highest mountains in the country. It rises just east of Ben Nevis and Carn Mòr Dearg, in the Ben Nevis and Glen Coe hills. The two Aonachs are usually walked together, most often by way of the Nevis Range gondola on neighbouring Aonach Mòr to the north. The tops up here are high and steep-sided, the eastern face of Aonach Beag drops away in crags, and it is serious ground in winter.
