People's Park
Open accessfree to visit at any reasonable time
A Victorian park south of Grimsby town centre, laid out by nurseryman William Barron and opened in 1883 after Edward Heneage gave the land for it. The double avenue of trees, bandstand and central lake with its fountain are all original to that 1880s design, and the ornate cast-iron entrance gates still stand at the Park Drive and Welholme Road corners. Free to walk in any time. Grimsby Town station is under a kilometre north.
