Laid out in the mid-19th century by the Royal Engineers for the garrison town, Aldershot Military Cemetery holds nearly 17,000 burials from nine nations, including hundreds of Commonwealth war graves that the CWGC maintains from both World Wars. It’s still a working Ministry of Defence cemetery, walked among Victorian headstones and regimental memorials. Free to visit daily during daylight hours; the Basingstoke Canal towpath runs close by if you fancy combining it with a walk.
