Ten acres of themed gardens at Canford Cliffs, above Poole Harbour, made in the 1920s and split into distinct set-pieces: an Italian garden with a canal and statuary, a Japanese garden with tea house and koi, a rock and water garden and heather banks. From the higher terraces there are views across the harbour to the Purbeck Hills. Paid entry, open through the year; Branksome station is a little over 2km north.
