Ardtornish spreads its rhododendron and woodland gardens around a Victorian house on the remote Morvern peninsula, above Lochaline. There’s an informal, half-wild feel to it — winding paths, water gardens and huge old shrubs at their best in late spring. The gardens are open year-round with honesty-box admission. Getting here means the long road round, or the Corran Ferry and a drive out.
