Scousburgh Sands, also known as Spiggie beach, is a wide arc of white sand backed by dunes in the South Mainland — often reckoned the finest beach in Shetland. The Loch of Spiggie behind it is an RSPB reserve, good for wildfowl. Open access near Spiggie; bring a windbreak.
