Mavis Grind is a narrow neck of land on the A970 where you cross into Northmavine, and it’s a genuinely odd spot: the Atlantic on one side and a North Sea inlet on the other, just a few metres apart. Local lore has it you can throw a stone from ocean to ocean. Worth a quick stop on the way north to Eshaness.
