Above the west shore of Loch Treig, Stob Coire Easain rises to 1,115m — a Munro, meaning a Scottish hill over 3,000 feet (914m). It stands with a near twin, Stob a’ Choire Mheadhoin, just a kilometre to the north-east, and the two are nearly always walked together as a pair, the round usually started from Fersit at the north end of the loch. These are steep, grassy hills with rocky summits, part of the Ben Nevis and Glen Coe range, and the ground between the two tops dips and climbs enough to feel like proper work.
