Cranbury Park is a Georgian mansion built in 1790 by George Dance the Younger, standing in parkland above Twyford and the River Itchen. The grounds hold a shell grotto and a folly built from stone salvaged from Netley Abbey, plus a sundial said to date from Isaac Newton’s earlier ownership of the estate. It’s a private family home, not generally open, though the garden does open on occasional charity days through the National Garden Scheme.
