The Wainstones are a tumble of sandstone crags on the Cleveland Way, high on the escarpment above Great Broughton. It’s a favourite spot for scramblers and rock climbers, and walkers on the long-distance path pick their way up and through the boulders to cross the ridge. Cracking views over the Cleveland Plain from the top. Battersby station sits about 4km to the east if you’re coming by train.
